Today I spent an hour rebuilding the marquee light for the Baby Pacman. This was originally designed to run on 120v, but a previous owner had spliced some mains cables, and hooked it up to a 240v ballast in a very dangerous way. So I have now returned it back to its original state and repaired the cut wires, and feel happier that it is now not going to give anyone an electric shock 🙂
Wells Gardner K4800 Monitor Recap
This weekend I’ve replaced all the capacitors on a Baby Pacman Wells Gardner K4800 monitor using the document below as my guide:
WG-4915 (202 downloads)
Note: some of the capacitors are slightly different between the K4915 and K4800 chassis. Please see my earlier blog entry for the specific capacitors.
I also confirmed with John Purski from Wells Gardner that the K4900 flyback can be used as a replacement on the K4800 chassis.
Garage Conversion to Arcade Update 4
I’ve been working really hard on the garage over the last couple of days.
I had made a start on the left hand wall in March by building some window frames, and plasterboarding the lower parts of the wall:
Today, I have pretty much finished plasterboarding the left hand wall and window, apart from some beading that needs doing around the windows. This means I’m now 95% done 🙂
The ceiling, left, right, and top walls are all boarded. I just need to finish the boarding at the walls near the entrance, but only one side can be done at this stage until the the electrical work is completed:
